1 T: Last period, we learned the words and text
of Lesson 7.We all know that Lesson 7 is
about detectives, thieves and diamonds. So do you like detectives? Which
detective do you like best? Lead to Holmes and Dr Watson.
2 Divide the students into two groups .One is Group
Holmes and the other is Group Dr Watson.
3 Listen to the song. Let students say the name of the
song : Yesterday once more.
Ⅲ Presentation
1 Listen to the tape and underline the verbs.
2 Ask students to say the verbs they underlined.
3 Show the text by multiple media. Underline the past
continuous tense.
4 Let the students summarize the structure of the past
continuous tense.
Ⅳ Practice
Show students some pictures and they should make
sentences according to the pictures.
Ⅴ Presentation
1 T says some sentences : I am standing now. I did my
homework yesterday. Let students say
adverbial adjunct of time.
2 Tell students the adverbial adjunct of time of the
past continuous tense.
3 Explain the differences among when, while and as.
First, let students read the examples , help them to understand their usages. Then
give the exact definition.
4 Do some exercise.

1 Show students some pictures. Let them make
sentences.
2 Show them three golden eggs. One group choose one egg.
There is a lucky egg. If they choose that one , teacher will add five points to
their group. Each egg has five questions. Teacher reads the questions and
students should answer as fast as possible. If he or she is right, their group
will get one point.
3 Game : hot potato.

Ask students to summarize the key points learned this
class.

Write a diary to tell us what you were doing at
different time yesterday.
